How can i play Xbox games on my Xbox Slim?

I bought a 4GB Xbox 360 Slim off of Ebay. i also bought a 250BG hard drive separate. i bought six games, two of them for the Xbox original. when i insert 007 night fire (on the compatibility list) i keep getting an ERROR message that says "game couldn't be played. try re-downloading it from Xbox.com"

Xbox 360 Slims have the same exact backwards compatibility as all Xbox 360 models. Not all games on the compatibility lists are actually compatible, so keep that in mind, though I can't confirm nor deny whether this is the case with 007 Nightfire. Also, you say you got the hard drive separately, are you 100% sure that it is an Xbox 360 250 Gig Hard Drive made for the Xbox 360 Slim models? Home built hard drives won't work for hard drive purposes such as this, and that could be the cause of this error screen.
